Jim Mulshine, MD, is a member of the ITM’s governing board, ITM Central, and is a Rush leader for the ITM Community and Collaboration Core, where he helps plan and oversee city-wide research collaborations between community members, organizations, industry, and researchers.
Mulshine is an internationally-recognized expert on lung cancer who has spent 25 years as a member of the research faculty for the National Cancer Institute. His research focuses on early disease management as a way to improve and extend the lives of lung cancer patients.
At Rush, Mulshine oversees research activity as Vice President for Research and serves as a professor of internal medicine. He is also Acting Dean for the Graduate College. His work has been widely published, with more than 300 publications. Mulshine is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Optical Society of America, American Association of Cancer Research, the American College of Physicians, and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.
