Sara Serritella is the Director of Communications of the ITM. She orchestrates its strategic messaging everywhere from the National Institutes of Health to hyper-local campaigns throughout Chicago.
She oversees the scaling of ITM communications efforts, trains academics on the most effective ways to share their science with the general public, and helps share the powerful stories of the volunteers who participate in health research.
Serritella brings a decade of experience to the ITM from her time in the journalism, nonprofit, and venture capital sectors, and she has advised everyone from corporate executives to government officials on communications strategies.
She has reported at media outlets across the country and contributed to the Pulitzer Prize-winning team reporting at the Detroit Free Press. Serritella is a proud alumna of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media and Integrated Marketing Communications.
