Gayle Averyheart is Research Diet Technician at the ITM. As a longtime member of the Clinical Research Center (CRC) team, she helps make sure clinical trials run smoothly and safely.

She works closely with patients, administering Dexa scans, running basal metabolic rate (BMR) machines to measure patients’ metabolisms, designing and preparing patient meals, and more.

Averyheart has her associate’s degree in nutrition and is registered with the American Dietetic Association. She has been with the University of Chicago for 37 years. Outside of nutrition, Averyheart enjoys participating in theater productions.
