Crain’s Chicago Business featured ITM-UChicago researcher Cathryn Nagler, PhD, as one of its Notable Women in Health Care. Nagler, UChicago’s Bunning Food Allergy Professor, is also the co-founder and president of ClostraBio. ClostraBio is a company that builds treatments and prevention medications for food allergies by harnessing the gut microbiome, or the community of tiny organisms that naturally live in your body. Nagler has studied food allergies and how to treat them for more than 30 years, including research funded by an ITM Pilot Award that set the stage for testing ClostraBio treatments.
