Interested in health equity in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) setting? Don’t miss February’s virtual ITM Grand Rounds! You’ll hear from Ameera Haamid, MD, FAEMS, Assistant Professor, Section of Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Medicine. In her talk titled “Mapping Health Equity in EMS: Challenges and Creating Opportunities,” Dr. Haamid will discuss her national work and findings from her time as the co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee for the National Association of EMS Physicians. Locally, Dr. Haamid has used her research to lead “Unconscious Bias for Fire and EMS” training with Chicago Fire Department (CFD). She’ll discuss early findings from survey data of CFD and future prehospital goals that include identifying whether this training has impact on patient care and using equity-related performance metrics to shape reimbursement models.

This event is Zoom only.
