The Biostatistics Laboratory is run through the Department of Public Health Sciences with support from the ITM. Its experts help investigators with everything from study design to data analysis.

Ethics
The University of Chicago MacLean Center is renowned for its expertise in clinical medical ethics.
In partnership with the ITM, it offers free research and clinical ethics consultations and assistance in creating a study design that takes into account special human subjects protections.
Epidemiology
Epidemiology is the study of how diseases spread, and in partnership with the Department of Public Health Sciences, the ITM offers consultations to researchers free of charge.
The epidemiology experts hail from several fields and use a variety of methodologies.
Community Engagement
In partnership with UChicago’s Center for Community Health and Vitality, the ITM offers free consultations to researchers whose studies require community participation.
Consultations help investigators with community-based participatory research and participant recruitment and retention. Letters of community support are not provided.
