Meet Your Professor

Sara Serritella

Sara Serritella

Sara Serritella is a national science communication expert based at the University of Chicago, award-winning journalist, and private detective whose high-energy presentations grace the stages of global and national conferences. She trains physicians, researchers, and executives across the country on how to communicate science and medicine to engage, inform, and inspire people to take action.

Sara is the Director of Communications at the Institute for Translational Medicine that’s powered by the National Institutes of Health, and she co-built the science communication program at the University of Chicago, where she teaches courses for graduate students, medical students, and undergraduates.

As a partner at Vantius and licensed private detective, Sara is rooted in both the worlds inside and outside of the ivory towers. Her favorite high-profile cases are helping to exonerate wrongfully-convicted individuals, and she translates behavioral science and field experience connecting with people of all backgrounds to her work in science communication and education.
