The Society for Biomaterials recently honored ITM investigator Jeffrey Hubbell with the 2017 Founders Award, the organization’s top honor recognizing “long-term, landmark contributions to the discipline of biomaterials.” Hubbell’s work focuses on immunotherapy, or harnessing the immune system to fight disease. He engineers materials that turn on or off aspects of the immune system in order to fight infectious disease, cancer, and more.
“It is a great honor to be recognized as having developed, with my team, ideas that are foundational to our field,” said Jeffrey Hubbell, PhD, Barry L. MacLean Professor of Molecular Engineering Innovation and Enterprise.
